Home Visits

A Friendly Visitor

Studies have shown that social isolation and loneliness can lead to general health risks especially in older adults. A friendly Companion can help meet social and emotional needs. Activities include:

  • Social conversation
  • Board games, video games
  • Range-of-motion exercises
  • Walks around the block
  • Reminiscing old memories, family albums

Facility Visits

Moving into a facility like a lodge, nursing home, or long term care doesn’t have to mean a decreased quality of life. A regular, friendly face can brighten the mood and be a highlight of a person’s day. Your busy schedule might prevent you from visiting your loved one as often as you’d like. Our Companionship can serve as an anchor for regular facility visits.

Dementia Support

Friendly visits can be a great way to reduce stress and uplift those with mild to moderate dementia. Our Nursing team can work with your family to come up with an outcome based approach to alleviate some of the negative effects of dementia. Examples of activities are:

  • Cognitive and memory tests
  • Cognition exercises including puzzles, image recognition
  • Coordination through hand activities
  • Documentation of past memories and stories

Outings

Leaving the house and participating in activities in the community is a powerful way to reduce social isolation. Our Companions can accompany you or your loved one on outings to medical appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and other social events.
