Family Support for Children with Disabilities

Empowering better lives.

Every child comes into the world and changes someone's life for the better. We can think of no better task than assisting in that journey.

support for your unique needs.

Your family deserves the best. We take the time to get to know your child, building a relationship of trust and an environment conducive to learning and having fun!

We provide respite services for families with children aged 18 and under. Our aim is to find activities that reflect the child’s strengths and interests rather than highlight limitations and inabilities. Just like your family, ever adventure in FSCD is unique. Do you provide transportation services?

Driving can become more difficult as we age. The loss of a driver's license has a big impact on one's dignity, freedom, and quality of life. Furthermore, the lack of transportation options tailored towards seniors and those with disabilities is an emerging barrier in our communities.

We recognize these challenges faced by our clients. Although we do not offer transportation services, we do, on a case-by-case basis, assist or accompany our clients with outings to social and recreational activities, medical appointments, and dining out. This a small part of our caregiving and companionship focused services as transportation is not our strong suit. Instead, we do our best to refer our clients to services that are dedicated to assisted transportation. Some examples include:

Edmonton Area - Drive Happiness

Calgary Area - Calgary Seniors' Resource Society

If you are looking for transportation services, we encourage you to check out the above resources.

Are you accredited?

We sure are! Compassion Network is accredited by Accreditation Canada since 2020. Accreditation Canada is an independent, non-profit organization that accredits health care organizations that meet their standards in quality, safety, and efficiency.

Are you bonded?

Employees of Compassion Network are bonded and insured to meet the requirements of Alberta Health Services. All employees must undergo a police information check with a vulnerable sector search.

How do you protect your staff from COVID-19?

  • Following all the guidance from AHS and public health
  • Making sure they have suitable personal protective equipment
  • Ensuring staff are trained and following all infection prevention and control protocols
  • Daily screening of employees prior to shifts

How do you pick a caregiver for companionship?

We ensure that all of our caregivers have the necessary training whether a Health Care Aide certificate or higher education. We base the choice on compatible personalities and skill level. All of our Health Care Aides are registered with the Alberta HCA directory.
