Helping Loved Ones Age Gracefully
Dementia Support and Companionship For Seniors
Take care of your emotional and social health with friendly visits, outings and activities. Alberta’s Trusted Senior Companion Services
All levels of care
From respite to reccuring visits
Reoccurring visits can be a great way to reduce stress and uplift those with mild to moderate dementia. Our nursing team can work with your family to come up with an outcome based approach to alleviate some of the negative effects of dementia. Examples of activities are: Cognitive memory tests, cognition exercises including puzzles, coordination through hand activities, and documentation of past memories.
Through activities, outings and conversation a friendly companion will provide an uplifted environment boosting motivation and well being. Activities include: social conversation, board games, video games, range-of-motion exercises, walks, reminiscing old memories, and more.
Leaving the house and participating in activities in the community is a powerful way to reduce social isolation. Our Companions can accompany you or your loved one on outings to medical appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and other social events. Transportation can be arranged with our assisted driving partner.
You may not require direct personal care but may benefit from help around the home. Our Home Helper package may fit your needs on a weekly or daily basis including light housekeeping, laundry, bedding and linen cleaning, meal preparation and assistance, and other homemaking tasks.
To Us, It's Personal
We understand that being distant from a social environment can become tough, causing loneliness and unwanted stresses. With your health and happiness as our top priority, we’re here to brighten your days proving and exciting and stimulating environment through activities, outings, conversations and more.
About Our Companions
Sharing amazing experiences and providing an exciting environment is what drives our Companions. Their unique ability to meet new clients making them feel like long time friends is what makes Compassion Companions so special. Not only are they highly trained, their empathetic nature and strong skillsets allow those around them to feel comfortable and uplifted.
Home and Facility Visits
Living at home alone or moving into a facility like a lodge, nursing home, or long term care doesn’t have to mean a decreased quality of life. A regular, friendly face can brighten the mood and be a highlight of a person’s day. Your busy schedule might prevent you from visiting your loved one as often as you’d like. A companionship service like ours can serve as an anchor for regular facility visits.
Increase Your Quality Of Life
Studies have shown that social isolation and loneliness can lead to general health risks especially in older adults. A friendly Companion can help meet social and emotional needs
